The purchasing process in eleven easy steps
So you’re thinking of buying a single apartment, apartment block or commercial property in Leipzig, Dresden, Berlin or elsewhere in Germany and want to know what’s involved?
If you buy it through BPC, this is how the process should run, if everything goes smoothly.
- You receive initial advice from one our staff, via email, phone or fax. All our staff speak fluent English, and are there to help you at every stage of the purchasing process.
- We provide more detailed information about the properties on our books that meet your specific search criteria.
- We set up a trip to view the selected properties (including help with travel and accommodation if required).
- You carry out individual viewings of the properties, accompanied by a BPC sales advisor, and make a shortlist of the ones that you are interested in.
- Our sales advisor provides you with all the information you have requested on the shortlisted properties.
- You decide on a property, and how much you want to offer. This offer is submitted to the vendor, as a starting point for negotiations on price.
- If required, we can speak to one or more German banks about financing, and guide you through the application process.
- If required, we can arrange a survey of the property.
- Once the price is agreed, a contract of sale is drawn up – in German and English if required.
- The contract is signed, and witnessed by a German notary.
- Once payment has been made in full, the property is handed over to the management company appointed by you the purchaser.
